Overview:
Serves as a bridge to augment the growth of the surgical technologist student as she/he transitions from the student role to that of a career surgical technologist.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must currently be enrolled in an accredited or approved Surgical Tech program, and have completed a clinical rotation, and is within one semester of completion of the program.
Licenses & CertificationsBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMust have completed the first and second cohort of the Surgical Technology program.
Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques used in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for various surgical procedures.
Knowledge of various types of equipment used in the operating room.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer proficiency.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
