Purpose
To provide leadership to optimize the processes and procedures that impact safety, qualityproductivity, capacity optimization, skills development and employee morale.
Duties
Acts as a safety leader by complying with all safety rules, policies, regulations and procedures; participates in safety programs, and encourages employee involvement from all safety activities.
Participates and leads Continuous Improvement initiatives that integrate the philosophy of World Class Operations Management into our culture.
Communicates the status of Continuous Improvement projects in a timely and professional manner. This may include: progress reports, identifying barriers and recommended solutions, and integrating with other projects or other continuous improvement initiatives.
Develops and implements machine center audits used to drive accountability in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and cost. Ensures 5S standards are being implemented and sustained.
Develop an understanding of process standards such as: start-up and shut-down procedures, troubleshooting techniques, machine standard operating conditions, and Quality Assurance standards.
Communicates all key safety, quality and productivity issues in a timely and professional manner to facility Shareholders as required.
Manages Visual Workplace programs, metrics and postings to reflect the process at the Sustain level.
Assists with machine center equipment modification requirements. Coordinates technical assistance from the Engineering Team as required. Accepts accountability for project safety, scope, cost management and timely completion.
Conducts periodic follow-ups to determine that designed output, quality and machine capabilities are being met on all production equipment.
Assists with equipment calibrations, predictive and preventative maintenance programs, machine alteration and redesigns and overall equipment process capability.
Supports the Plant Engineering and Production departments in associated projects and & Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
3-5 years of professional experience in a process support role, preferably in the flexible packaging/printing industry.
Experience in Lean Manufacturingand/orSix Sigma as demonstratedbyminimally aGreen Belt Certification. Ability to advance to Black Belt within a 2-3 year period.Skills & Abilities Needed
Interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, to work with different departments/employees at all levels on a daily basis.
Developed presentation skills, including proficiency with computers and commonly used software, including, but not limited to Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
Specific knowledge of our business along with acceptable leadership skills to fill in for the Process Team Leader as required.
