Production Materials Planner

Position Description:
Manage the raw material planning process in support of production builds and plant inventory
turnover targets. Responsible for managing all aspects of supplier delivery performance
including on-time delivery. Active in plant continuous improvement to help drive inventory
accuracy and reduce costs.
Key
Responsibilities: Manages Inventory Levels within plant specific targets.
Freedom to make independent judgments and decisions.
Decisions effect what production does and does not get produced in the facility.
Participates in weekly inventory DOH review and performs root cause analysis for excess
inventory items.
Uses MPS activity with weekly PDCA updates on inventory accuracy and presents weekly
to plant manager, controller, materials manager, and MPS coach.
Manage and Coordinate PPAP approvals for engineering changes and/or new program
launches.
Planning and scheduling of purchased material to support production schedules for pre-
braze raw material. Includes daily MRP review to insure supplier schedule accuracy.
Directs actions of cycle counter and provides support for root cause analysis of inventorydiscrepancies of pre braze raw material.Delivery follow-up and expediting using MD07.Performs bi-weekly layer process audit for materials department.
Monitors supplier delivery performance - issues 8D for non-compliant actions. Maintain master data setup in SAP for all pre-braze raw material inventory.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, or related field.
Position requires 2 -4 years of Materials Management experience, SAP experience is
preferred.
Candidate must have an understanding of Lean Management principles and concepts with
excellent leadership and communication skills.
Travel Requirements:Less than 5%
